ABOUT ME:
Hi, I’m Yamuna—photographer, proud mom of two incredible boys, and a firm believer in the power of a photograph to tell a story. Born and raised in India, my journey has taken me from degrees in IT and business to a career that’s led me around the world. In 2005, my professional path brought me to the US, where I met and fell in love with my now-husband in 2006. After moving back to India, we married in 2007 and lived in places like Bangalore, Toronto, Maryland, and New Jersey, before finally settling in Rhode Island—where my husband’s family is from and where our boys have found their home. By day, I am very driven and work for one of the top Fortune 500 companies.
Through all the changes and transitions, one thing has remained constant: my love for photography. After having my two boys, I discovered a deeper purpose behind the lens—capturing their childhood and the fleeting moments along the way. Just like my parents did for me, I signed my boys up for every sport they wanted to try, and I made sure to document each game, practice, and milestone. It quickly became clear how powerful it is to have something tangible to relive those memories time and again.
As a photographer, I embrace whatever tool works best for the moment—whether it’s my DSLR, mirrorless camera, phone, mini point-and-shoot, or even a disposable camera. For me, it’s never about a specific gear—it’s about capturing the raw emotion, connections, and stories unfolding before me. While my professional camera allows me to capture those sharp, detailed shots perfect for creating beautiful wall art, every camera has its place. Personally, I have a deep love for monochromatic, large black-and-white pieces that speak to the essence of a moment and possess a timeless beauty. You would see massive monochromatic wall-art as you enter our home of my boys.
Whether it's a sports portrait, a family session, a corporate event, or a professional headshot, my goal is always the same: to create images that reflect the true spirit and emotion of those I photograph.
Thank you for visiting my site! I’d love to collaborate with you and help preserve the memories that matter most.
